Access to Care

*Committee Liaisons serve as a bridge between the Executive Council and the Committees.

This committee will review and evaluate all dental care access programs, active and contemplated in this area, with approval of the Executive Council and report to the membership. With the consent of, and under supervision of the Executive Council, work with the appropriate committees of the WSDA and the ADA and, by constructive action, endeavor constantly to improve existing or proposed programs in the area. Work with appropriate local, state and national programs designed to serve the general population. This committee meets 5-6 times a year.

Budget & Finance

This committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Executive Council and Executive Director on all matters pertaining to the funds of the Society. It receives and considers all requests for funds and prepares an annual budget for the Society. This committee meets 6 times a year.

Communications

This committee is responsible for improving public relations, building relationships and alliances with the media and local legislators and increasing the visibility of the Society in King County and among our members. This committee meets 4-5 times per year.

Forensic

This committee works to explore and establish a contingency plan, in cooperation with related groups in the area, to handle various situations calling for forensic dental assistance and identification. Meets 3 times per year.

Leadership

This committee develops the ballot of members nominated for election as officers of the Society. Meets once a year.

Membership Recruitment & Retention Committee

The goals of the committee are to minimize non-renewals and to recruit new members. It also serves to promote valuable programs and services to the members and community. Meets 4 times per year.

Ambassadors are the "welcome wagon" for the Society. Drawn from the past presidents, Seattle-King County Dental Society Executive Council and Membership Committee they will be asked to act as ambassadors to new members.

New Dentist Committee

This committee brings together newer SKCDS members (less than five years of SKCDS membership and/or those under 40 years of age) to address common concerns, etc. by sponsoring free monthly programs on subjects of interest to young professionals. Meets once per year and sponsors 6 programs.
 

Peer Review

This committee operates within the guidelines of the WSDA Peer Review Procedure Manual. Committee work includes mediation and case review activities for member dentists and/or their patients. Meets once per year & mediations/panel.

Program & CDE

This committee plans the general programs and Continuing Dental Education (CDE) courses sponsored by the Society. Meets 1-2 times per year.

Meets 4 times per year

Event Planning Committee

This committee plans fund raising events for the Foundation including plans for the Foundation Auction and other events. Meets 6-8 times per year.
