Apple Health Provider Alert: Update to CDT Code D9992

Effective for dates of service on and after March 1, 2021, the Health Care Authority (HCA) will no longer pay for CDT code D9992, triage and care coordination over the telephone.
The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) recently sent the following alert to Apple Health (Medicaid) providers.

Attention Dental providers:

Effective for dates of service on and after March 1, 2021, the Health Care Authority (HCA) will no longer pay for CDT® code D9992, triage and care coordination over the telephone. Providers may continue to use CDT® codes D9995 and D9996 for teledentistry.

HCA will publish an updated version of the Dental-Related Services Program Billing Guide on March 1, 2021.
