Attention Medicaid Providers: The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) recently published updates to the Access to Baby and Child Dentistry, Dental-related Services, Orthodontic Services, and Oral Health Connections Pilot Project billing guides, along with updates to the Dental Program fee schedule.

Attention Medicaid Providers: The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) published January 1 updates to the following Apple Health Billing Guides as well as the Dental program fee schedule:

• Access to Baby and Child Dentistry/Mouth Matters Billing Guide
• Dental-related Services Program Billing Guide
• Orthodontic Services Program Billing Guide
• Oral Health Connections (OHC) Pilot Project Billing Guide
• Dental Program Fee Schedule

All of the changes that have been made are listed at the beginning of each billing guide under the “What has changed?” section. Some of the recent changes include clarifications and updates to increase ease of finding information in guides, revised language to remove codes that are no longer active in order to align with the 2022 CDT book, as well as updated language to provide consistency in the terms used between billing guides.

All updates and changes to billing guides and fee schedules are made quarterly (Jan. 1, April 1, July 1 and Oct. 1).
