As we shared on February 21, SB 5351 was voted unanimously out of the Senate Committee on Health & Long-Term Care. The amended bill makes meaningful progress on all four of the major policy issues we proposed in our original legislation, including:

  • Prohibiting same-day denials
  • Restricting fees associated with virtual credit cards
  • Setting a dental loss ratio threshold
  • Establishing non-network reimbursement fairness

Please click here to contact your senator in support of these dental benefits reforms. With just a few clicks, you can send a message that describes how SB 5351 will benefit your patients and why it’s important for legislators to support the important reforms contained in the bill. You can use WSDA’s pre-loaded message or customize what you send.

You can also call the Legislative Hotline at 1-800-562-6000 to leave a message in support. If you have any questions, please contact WSDA Advocacy Director Kevin Schilling at kevin@wsda.org or (206) 948-0381.

Your active engagement with your senator is critical to enacting these important changes — thank you for helping us fight for better dental benefits on behalf of Washington patients!
